Academic Handbook

This Academic Handbook is the University's compendium of academic policies and procedures which replaced the former Procedures and Policies for Academic Quality Assurance (the "AQA Handbook").

The Handbook seeks wherever possible to present constituent documents in a standard format, including:

  • purpose
  • principles
  • Regulation
  • procedure
  • guidance
  • glossaries, flowcharts and review dates as appropriate

As changes are made to governance and management arrangements to facilitate the transition to new academic structures, these will be reflected in revised sections of the Academic Handbook developed during 2011/12 where applicable and published online here once approved.

Documents listed below are PDF files (requiring Adobe Reader) unless otherwise indicated.

Any general comments or queries regarding the handbook should be directed to Stewart Smith-Langridge, Senior Assistant Secretary, Governance Services Unit (GSU), in the first instance.  Queries about specific documents within the handbook should be directed to the appropriate contact person.
