This Academic Handbook is the University's compendium of academic policies and procedures.  The Handbook seeks wherever possible to present constituent documents in a standard format, including: purpose; principles; regulation; procedure; guidance; and glossaries, flowcharts and review dates as appropriate.

The University's Transformation Programme has overseen changes to governance and management arrangements during 2011/12 to facilitate the transition to new academic structures.  The contents of the Academic Handbook have been reviewed  as part of the Programme's Academic Governance Project, resulting in revisions to policies and procedures which have been approved by Senate's Learning, Teaching and Enhancement Committee.

From 2012/13 these policies and procedures are published on the University's updated Policies and Procedures website and links are reproduced below for your convenience. Complementary material is also available from the following areas of the Governance website:

Any general comments or queries regarding the Academic Handbook should be directed to Stewart Smith-Langridge, Senior Assistant Secretary, Governance Services Unit (GSU), in the first instance.  Queries about specific documents within the handbook should be directed to the appropriate contact person identified in the relevant document.
